Today we conducted an experiment to investigate : Solutions. Look at the photos below. Which type of sugar dissolved the fastest? Does the water temperature make a difference?

    What is a solute?
    A solute is a substance that dissolves in a solvent.
    Give some examples of solutes.
    Sugar and salt are examples of a solute. If you mixed sugar with water it would turn into sugar water.
    Explain what soluble means.
    Soluble means something that is able to be dissolved.
    Explain what a solvent is.
    Solvent is the liquid in which a solute is dissolved to make a solution.
