Spring 1, Week 5- Mrs Diaz’s Phonics Group. URE, TURE, OUR.

What a term in phonics we have had! For our last week in our phonic session, we have been focusing on the sounds URE, TURE, OUR. Firstly we looked at the phonemes and talked about the grapheme these would be in. We then went onto read the RWI book, ‘VULTURE CULTURE’ Where we read and answered questions from the ‘Get Writing’ text book.

    1. In 1973 Andean condors were almost extinct because too many had been hunted and killed.
    2. They eat animals of all kinds but it is rare for a condor to kill one.
    3. These vultures live in the mountain ranges or South America.
    They can glide for many hundreds of miles above the mountains looking for food.
