We have been learning about fractions this term. Your challenges are linked to fractions of amount. Think carefully about what the question is asking you to do.

**Bronze**

A little monkey had 60 peaches.

He decided to give away **3/4** of his peaches.

How many peaches did he have left?

Explain how you got your answer clearly.

**Silver**

A little monkey had 75 peaches.

On day 1 he gave away 1/3 of his peaches.

On Day 2 he then received 10 more peaches. With this he gave away 2/6 of his peaches and ate 4.

How many peaches does the little monkey have left?

**Gold**

BRONZE:

Using my knowledge of fractions, I know that there are 15 peaches left because 60 divided by 4 is 15.

SILVER:

I have done this in my homework book.

I have done it

I have done it in my homework book.

I have done this.

1) 15

2) half sixty is 30 and a quarter of 30 is 15

I have completed my maths challenge.

Bronze challenge

15 peaches left…

4 x 15= 60

2 x 15 = 30

3 x 15 = 45

A half of 60 = 30

A quarter of 60 = 45

A 1 forth of 60 = 15

Bronze:

He had 15 left as I know mentally that 60 divided by 4 equals 15 so 1/4 equals 15 so 3/4 equals 45 and 60 takeaway 45 equals 15. So there are 15 peaches left.

Silver:

He has 31 peaches left because 1/3 of 75 is 25 and 25 takeaway 10 equals 15 then he gave another 25 away and ate 4 so 15 add 25 equals 40 and 40 add 4 equals 44 and finally 75 takeaway 44 equals 31.

I will complete the Maths Challenge soon.

In my homework book.
