This week we have been looking at equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator.  Have a look at the fraction wall below and answer the following questions:-

  1. What is a fraction?
  2. Give me 2 equivalent fractions of a 1/2?
  3. Given me 2 equivalent fractions of a 1/3 
  4. What is 2/5 + 3/5 =                                
  5. What is 7/9 – 3/9 = 
  6.  2/8  and 3/12 are equivalent to a 1/4.  Is this true or false?  Please explain your answer.

    2/4. 3/6

    2.2/6.4/12

    2/5+3/5=5/5

    7/9-3/9=4/9

    true because a half of 2/8 is 2/4 and a quater of 4/8 is 1/4

    2.1/2=2/4 1/2=4/8
    3.1/3=2/6 1/3=4/12
    4.2/5+3/5=5/5
    5.7/9-3/9=4/9
    6.it is true because if you look at the line it leads down to 1/8 3/12

    2.6/12 and 4/8 are equivalent to 1/2.
    3.4/12 and 2/6 are equivalent to 1/3.
    4.2/5+3/5=5/5
    5.7/9-3/9=4/9
    6.2/8 and 3/12 are equivalent to 1/4 because on the fraction wall I followed the line on 1/4 and it follows to 2/8 and 3/12.It is true.

      Go onto education city do some math and you have to do you 7 8 9 and 12 times tables
      For English go on education city and go on the game your teacher has put for you
