Summer Poetry Challenge!

Calling all Broad Heath poets!

Would you like to take part in the summer poetry challenge? The challenge is open to all children in key stage 1 and key stage 2 for your last 2 weeks at school before the summer holidays.

If you would like to take part, your task is to write a poem based around the idea of ‘Moving On’. This could be moving on to a new classroom, a new country or growing up. It is your choice but I would like you to think creatively!

You may want to add some pictures or art work to your poem to illustrate your ideas. You could create a shape poem or an acrostic poem.

Please bring your entries to the 6S classroom by Wednesday 15th July.

The winner will be announced on Friday 17th July.

Good luck everybody and be creative!

Miss Saunders

  2. Some of us are going to new classes, new schools,
It makes us relax like a nice big swimming pool.
    Seeing new teachers,
Making our face as red as peaches.
    Doing hard stuff,
    Making our brain tuff.
Being better role models than year 8,
Making sure for school we are not late.
    Looking after each other ,
Careing for each other as better as lovers.
    Saying to our parents goodbye,
While they do up our tie.
While your parent blows their nose,
You go on your new phone and strike a pose.
Now arriving to your new class or school,
You try to act chill and cool.
THATS WHAT I CALL MOVING ON!!! :) :)

  3. I like vegetables,
They are as happy as me.
    I like vegtables
    Aspecialy the peas.
    We like carrots
They are as funny as me
So we gobble up so we have them in our tummy . . .

  5. In this war we’re always moving,
    Moving on;
    When we make a friend another friend has gone;
    Should a girls kindly face
Make us welcome for a space,
    Moving on.

They’re here today, tomorrow they dissapear and never return,
When the bravest and the best
Of the girls you know “go west”,
Then you’re swallowing down your tears and
    Moving on.

Thank you and i hope you like my poem!
