  1. Layers of the rainforest
There are 4 different layers in the rainforest. These layers are called the emergent layer, the canopy layer, the understory layer and the forest floor. All of these layers put together make the rainforest.
    The emergent layer
This layer is the biggest and tallest layer and is important as it gives shelter to smaller trees. If you go to the rainforest, you will find out that not many trees grow to the height of this because these trees are hundreds of years old.
    The canopy layer
This layer is the second layer and it gets shelter from the lighter leaves on the bigger trees which are in the emergent layer. the animals who live here are birds, monkeys and even snakes.
    The understory layer
This layer is a very dark place where there are lots of plants and animals. There are most plants in this layer.
    The forest floor
The forest floor is the quietest place and most darkest place only 2% of sunlight reaches here. That is like as if you have the lights off. There is a combination of different insects and plants here.

  2. The Amazon rainforest , which is located across South America , is the biggest rainforest in the world with four different layers ; the Emergent layer , the Canopy layer , the Understory layer and the Forest floor . Read on to discover some astonishing and astounding facts about the incredible forest floors !

    EMERGENT LAYER
The Emergent layer is above the Canopy and is the highest of the layers with trees as tall as two hundred feet tall as well as having trunks as long as sixteen feet long. Due to the emergent layer being closest to the sun , it gets lots of sunlight causing the trees to grow to such phenomenal heights . Around the Emergent Layer , many animals such as : small monkeys , birds

    • I need to carry on

Eagles and Bats live there .

      CANOPY LAYER
The Canopy layer is below the Emergent layer with leaves so intensely thick it is like an umbrella to the layers beneath it . Many leaves interwine like a maze to form a layer where sunlight becomes limited . Food is plentiful in the Canopy layer therefore it is home to most of the animals in the rain forest . Tree frogs , snakes , toucan and coati are commanly found in this level . Because of the layer being so tightly packed with leaves , most animals use it as a shelter to live .

      UNDERSTORY LAYER
As it is the third layer from sunlight , it is quite dark and damp , it only gets between two percent and fifteen percent of sunlight . The humid conditions are perfect for mosquitoes and other insects to breed and thrive . Red eyed tree frogs , jaguars , leopards and fruit bats all live in the understory layer and use camouflage to disguise themselves .

      FOREST FLOOR
A very little amount of plants grow due to the extreme lack of sunlight which enters the Forest floor . Leaves and other living things decay very quickly in such a dark and damp environment . Fungi can feed on the decaying matter as can numerous types of small insects . Scorpions , green iguanas , army ants , giant armadillos and giant anteaters all live on the forest floor and are well adapted to digging their food out of the ground .

  3. When you first look, it seems like the rainforest is a jumbled mess. However, there are actually four different layers in the forest. They are the emergent, canopy, understory and forest floor layers. Each layer has special animals and plants that live there.

    EMERGENT LAYER
The tallest trees are the emergents, towering as much as 200 feet above the forest floor with trunks that measure up to 16 feet around. Most of these trees are broad-leaved, hardwood evergreens. Sunlight is plentiful up here. Animals found are eagles, monkeys, bats and butterflies.EMERGENT LAYER

    CANOPY LAYER
This is the primary layer of the forest and forms a roof over the two remaining layers. Most canopy trees have smooth, oval leaves that come to a point. It’s a maze of leaves and branches. Many animals live in this area since food is abundant. Those animals include: snakes, toucans and treefrogs.

    UNDERSTORY LAYER
Little sunshine reaches this area so the plants have to grow larger leaves to reach the sunlight. The plants in this area seldom grow to 12 feet. Many animals live here including jaguars, red-eyed tree frogs and leopards. There is a large concentration of insects here.

    FOREST FLOOR
It’s very dark down here. Almost no plants grow in this area, as a result. Since hardly any sun reaches the forest floor things begin to decay quickly. A leaf that might take one year to decompose in a regular climate will disappear in 6 weeks. Giant anteaters live in this layer.

  4. Gold

The Amazon rain forest has four layers the bottom layer is the forest floor it is mostly dark and loads of dead plants also some dead animals are left down there.the one above is called is called the understory layer some light nearly appears there. The one above the understory is called the canopy not some light après there it is nearly at the top.the one above is called the emergent layer the top of the tree all of light goes there.

  5. Emergent layer

In the emergent layer, it’s the highest part of the tree. Lots of insects fly around. Sun shine hits on the tree because it’s at the top.

I will carry on later when I go home.

    • Canopy layer

The canopy layer is the second largest layer however not much sun light hits canopy layer more than the emergent layer. Again lots of bees and birds live there.

      Understory layer

The third largest layer is named understory layer. A little bit of sunlight hits the understory layer. Some insects like butterflies and bees live there as well as Jaguars.

      Forest floor

The forest floor is very dark which means no sunlight hits it. Gorillas and insects live there.

  6. Gold
    Emergent Layer
The emergent layer is the tallest layer in the rainforest. The emergent layer is at the top so there is sunlight.Animals live there such as monkeys, bats and butterflies.
    Canopy Layer
Canopy layer is the second largest layer in the rainforest. It dose’nt get much sunlight.Animals live there such as birds.
    Understory Layer
At this part, not much sunshine comes. The understory layer is quite dark and damp. Animals live here such as jaguars, frogs and some insects.
    Forest Floor
Forest floor is very dark.No sunshine reaches this area.If plants are grown here they will die soon.Insects and ant eaters live here.

  7. Gold
There are four layers in the amazon rainforest.
    Emergent Layer
The emergent layer is the last layer of the rainforest and animals such as small monkeys, birds and many more. The most sunlight reaches here because large trees that soar into the sky cover the rainforest and get the sunlight.
    Canopy Layer
The canopy layer is the third layer of the rainforest and monkeys, butterflies and birds live here. Trees that are a bit smaller than the ones in the emergent, block most of the light, making the bottom of the rainforest dark. There are also plants that grow here, but their roots don’t go to the ground. These type of plants are called air plants.
    Understory Layer
The understory layer is the second layer of the rainforest and butterflies and frogs live here. It is very dark here.
    Forest Floor
The forest floor is the first layer of the rainforest and insects, jaguars and many more animals live here. It is damp and wet on the ground. Only 2% of sunlight reaches here!
These are the layers of the Amazon rainforest.

  8. Gold
There are four different layers in the Amazon rainforest
    Emergent layer
The tallest trees reach to emergent layer. It is very sunny due to it being the top of the four layers.Different animals that live in the Emergent layer is monkeys,Eagles, bats and butterflies this is because these animals can fly in the air.Trees can grow up to an amazing 200 feet, which is bigger than many trees in England.
    The canopy layer
The canopy layer is the primary layer of the rainforest and forms a roof over the two remaining layers. The trees have smooth oval leaves which are really smooth. Many animals live in this area including snakes, toucans and tree frogs.
    Understory layer
Very little sunshine reaches the understory layer as trees are blocking the sun.Plants have to grow larger to reach the sunlight.Plants in this area grow up to 12 feet. Many animals live here including Jaguars, red eyed tree frogs and leopards. There is many insects here as well as animals.
    Forest floor
The forest floor is very dark.Almost no plants grow in this area.Since any sunlight reaches the forest floor,Things begin to decay.Only 2% of sunlight reaches this area.

  9. Gold
    Emergent layer
This layer is very sunny because it is the tallest tree.Lots of animals in this tree such as birds, butterflies, frogs and snakes live here.Lots of sun shines at the top of the tree. The Emergent layer is the tallest layer.

  10. In the Amazon there are four layers, called Emergent layer,Canopy layer,Understory layer and Forest floor. Each layer has special animals and plants that live there.

    Emergent layer

The Emergent layer gets the most sunlight because it is the very top.Only the tallest trees reach this level. On the Emergent layer, their are a variety of animals, such as,Birds,Butterflies,Small Monkeys and many more.

    Canopy layer

The Canopy layer is the second layer.Much of the rain is stopped by the thick foliage. Most trees in the Canopy layer grow to about 100 feet. There are Birds,Monkeys,Frogs, and Sloths,Lizards and snakes are on the Canopy layer.

    Understory layer

The Understory layer is very hot and humid. Not much light reaches the Understory layer. The plants in the Understory layer grow to 12 feet. The animals that live on the Understory layer are Birds,Butterflies,Frogs and Snakes.

    Forest floor

In the Forest floor,it is dark, damp, full of many dead
leaves and plants. It is estimated only 2% of sunlight
    actually reaches the floor.Jaguars,Gorillas,Leopards,
Tapirs and Tigers live on the Forest floor.

  11. In the rainforest there are four different layers which are the emergent layer, the canopy layer, understory and forest floor.

    EMERGENT LAYER
The emergent layer is at the very top so it gets more sunlight also it protects the other trees.

    CANOPY
the second layer and gets a bit of sunlight.

    UDERSTORY
    third layer lots of plants

    FOREST FLOOR
    last floor 2% sunlight.

  12. In the rainforest there are four different types of layers such as the Emergent layer , Canopy layer , Understory layer and Forest floor.
    Emergent layer:
In the Emergent layer most trees can rise 100 to 250 feet. Most of the sun reaches the emergent layer. The plants that grow there
are usually high and tall.Because the temperature is high, plants which are called waxy leaves protect the plants. The animals that live in the rainforest include birds like parrots , macaws and eagles. Some of these birds build nest in holes of the trees.Sloths, spider monkeys, butterflies and bats also live there.
    Canopy layer:
Vines and branches mostly grow in the canopy layer. Some plants are cut down so people can make woody items.Plants burn because the sunlight hits it. If rain falls the canopy leaves stop it from going to forest floor. The animals that are found in the canopy layer are squirrel monkeys, bats, snakes, tree frogs and toucans. All of these animals eat fruit and seeds which come from trees.
    Understory layer:
The Understory layer lies between the forest floor and canopy layer. All of the trees that grow there are short. The trees are thin because they are young and small.Insects are also found in the understory layer.
    Forest floor:
Little plants, long grass and flowers grow there. In the forest floor it is really dark. Only 2% of light comes there. The animals that live there are tapirs , jaguar , snakes and pumas.

  13. Emergent layer
The emergent layer is highest layer of Amazon trees. All of the sun light is shown on the top of the trees in the Amazon , it is 200 feet from the forest floor with trunks that measure up to 16 feet from the ground. The animals that live they are: butterflies and birds.

  14. Emergent layer
Emergent layer is the tallest layer in the rainforest. Butterflies and birds fly there. So much sunlight reaches there. It is even bright.
    Canopy layer
The canopy layer doesn’t get so much sunlight.Canopy layer only gets a tiny bit of sunlight. The animals who live there are monkeys , and snakes.
    Understory layer
The understory layer is where all the rain falls and no sunlight goes there. It is very dark and dull. There are so many insects and bugs live there.
    Forest floor
Forest floor is so dark and so dull. So many animals and insects die. None sunlight reaches the forest floor.

  15. There are 4 different layers in the amazon which are the Emergent, Canopy and Understory are the layers of the Amazon rainforest.

    Emergent lair
The Emergent lair has the tallest trees in the Amazon rainforest which are about 280m tall. That means the Emergent layer gets hit the most brightness from the sun. The animals that are found hear are Eagles, butterflies and Monkeys.

    Canopy layer
The Canopy layer have the second largest trees which are 50-120m tall. This means that gets hit by quite a lot of brightness hitting the large tree leafs.the animals hear are Reptiles, Lizards and Snakes

    Understory
In the Understory layer the trees are young and are about 59m tall in the rainforest. The leafs on the trees in the Understory layer they are thick and large . In the understory layer there is a tiny piece of light traveling there. The animals there are loads of insects and the poisonous dark frog.

    Forest Floor
The forest floor has the smallest trees which are about 15m tall. The forest floor is very damp, gloomy and the large leaves don’t allow any light to come down which means it is the darkest layer in the Amazon. The animals which are found are mostly the 5 big cats.

  16. EMERGENT LAYER

The tallest trees are the emergents, towering as much as 270 feet above the forest floor with trunks that measure up to 16 feet around. Most of these trees are broad-leaved, hardwood evergreens. Sunlight is plentiful up here. Animals found are eagles, monkeys, bats and butterflies.

    CANOPY
The canopy is the name given to the upper parts of the trees (about 65 to 130 feet or 20 to 40 m tall). This leafy environment is full of life: insects, arachnids, many birds (like the keel-billed toucan, the scarlet macaw, the cuckoo, and the hornbill), mammals (like the howler monkey, which is the second-loudest animal in the world, and the orangutan), reptiles (like snakes and lizards), and others. Plants in the canopy include thick, snake-like vines and epiphytes (“air plants”) like mosses, lichens, and orchids (which grow on trees).

    , The under story layer
The under story is a dark and cold environment. plants such as ferns, palms, philodendrons, and heliconias are in the under story layer. Some birds like antbirds live and nest within tree recesses and eat the abundant insects. Some larger animals, like jaguars, spend a lot of time on branches in the understory, surveying the area, looking for prey.

    Forest floor
The forest floor is the darkest bit of the Amazon rain forest the largest animals live here such as Gorrillas, anteaters wild boars Jaguars and humans.

  17. In the Amazon rainforest there are four layers called emergent layer, conomy layer, understory layer and the forest floor.

    Emergent layer
The emergent layer is the tallest tree in the amazon rainforest.lots of sun shines at the top of the tree.loads of butterfly and birds fly there.

    conomy layer
The conomy layer doesn’t get a lot of sun and not much rain
As well.monkeys and snakes hang on the trees. Its the second tallest tree in the Amazon rainforest.

    Understory layer
The understory layer is were all the rain falls down no sun shines and its very dull.insects and bugs are around there.
The understory is hot damp and the air is still.

    Forest floor
The forest floor is often dark insects and bugs crawl around loads of animals die there. In the forest floor leaves cover it that’s why it is so dark.

  18. There are 4 different layers in the rainforest, there is a emergent layer, canopy layer, understory layer and the forest floor,

    Emergent layer
The emergent layer is one of the tallest trees in the rainforest.it protects the canopy layer so the canopy layer don’t get a lot of sun.the emergent layer gets all of the sun and all of the rain

    Canopy layer
The canopy layer gets less sun and less rain.the canopy layer is the second largest tree.it has animals sutch as a,bird, monkey and snakes.

    Underground layer
The under ground layer is the1 largest plant.the rain passes from the emergent layer to the canopy layer to the underground layer.

  19. EMERGENT LAYER
The tallest trees are the emergent towering as much as 200 feet above the forest floor with the trunks that measure up to 16 feet around. Most of these trees are broad leaved hardwood evergreens. sunlight is plentiful up here. Animals found are eagles monkeys bats and butterflies.
    CANOPY LAYER
This is the primary layer of the forest and forms over a roof over the two remaining layers. Most canopy trees have smooth oval leaves tha comes to a point .It is a maze of leaves and branches .Many animals live in this area since food is abundant. Those animals include snakes toucans and treefrogs .
