During book week, 1 Blue have been busy! We shared the book, ‘The Big Blue Thing on the Hill’. We acted out parts of the story together and used adjectives to describe how the animals must have felt when they discovered the ‘Blue Thing’.
We worked as a team to create our own ‘Blue Thing’.
At the end of the book, the ‘Blue Thing’ disappeared. We predicted where it might have gone.

Some of us thought that the spaceship on the last page of the book had captured the ‘Blue Thing’ and we made models of it.
The insects formed a flying squad to attack the ‘Blue Thing’. We used our mathematical skills to count the insects and put them into groups. We were able to record this information as addition sums.
We went outside to find real insects and used a tally chart to record our findings.
What do you think happened to the ‘Blue Thing?’
I have enjoyed learning about blue things.i have enjoyed painting the animal and hunting the bugs.
I loved the hunt because it was a lot of fun and we found a lot of bugs.
