The Coventry Award of Merit 2018

Each day Mrs Frankish shares how proud she is of the staff, pupils, parents and governors of Broad Heath Primary School but today I would like to share how proud I am of Mrs Frankish.

Mrs Frankish has been recommended for and granted the Coventry Award of Merit!!

The award is a way of recognising and honouring personal behaviour that reflects the highest ideals of citizenship or outstanding performance in any field of human endeavour and which improves the good name of Coventry and inspires its residents.

The Award has previously taken the form of a citation under the Common Seal, together with a presentation of a gold medallion pendant from a ribbon in the city’s colours. The motif on the medallion is the phoenix, symbolising the resurgence of Coventry from the flames of the Blitz.

I would also like to pass on congratulations to one of our governors, Roger Medwell, who is also receiving the award.

  1. Wow, so many comments. I have to say I’m not surprised by this award for you Jane. You so deserve it with all the passion, commitment and high standards you work to for the children, staff and parents. The school itself is a lovely place to be, with the creative designs, colourful displays and beautiful messages and pictures that line the walls.

Everybody might not agree with you sometimes but nobody can argue that you have the best interests of the children to heart and I commend your resilience and dedication in achieving this recognition. It’s about time you got acknowledged in this way! Well done you and keep up the good work. And on behalf of the parents I thank you sincerely for every opportunity you give our children and us parents.
    Your (sparring) admirer, Naz.

    • Continue to be my sparring partner Naz, because it is the friction in the oyster that creates the pearl! I will ensure that BH children get the best even if it means doing things on occasions when everyone is not happy. Thank you for your lovely words!

  2. Congratulations on such a well deserved award!! In all the years I was at school and now my children in their years, I have never seen such a dedicated head teacher 😊 one who gives such amazing opportunities to her students whilst ensuring mutual respect with both parents and students. You make their school days enjoyable and informative and it really does make a difference when they find their head teacher approachable and down to earth! They know when to draw the line with you but also know they can share a joke with you! I’m a firm believer that when someone goes above and beyond for the sake of others then they should most definitely be acknowledged and praised for their efforts as there is not enough of it in the world today. So well done on such a special achievement and keep doing what you’re doing!
