This is Me! – 4W

4 White, what a fantastic start to the year we have had! ’This is Me’ week has been amazing and you have all embraced what makes you different from everyone else. Mr Mashford and I are incredibly proud of you all!

We have enjoyed listening to ’This is Me’ By Keala Settle and have a good understanding of the powerful message within the lyrics. Based on this song we wrote our own poem about ourselves and what makes us unique.

4W listened to a story about resilience ’The Lion Inside’ which was about a meek mouse who felt lonely and wanted to be noticed. After reading the story, 4W wrote their very own sequel that continued with key messages. Everyday, we completed a range of inspirational maths activities that really challenged us. We learnt that having a growth mindset is important and it helps us grow and develop with our learning.
The children showed us how they creative they are by creating self portraits and painting them using contrasting colours. Next, we look at what makes good teamwork and to help with this we researched three successful teams, The Apollo 11, The Lionesses and The Wright Brother. We learnt that to achieve good teamwork you should listen to each other and share ideas. We ended the week by looking at the school rules, why they are important and the consequences of breaking these. After his we designed our own school emblems that represent Broad Head and our school values.

Please watch our video below that showcases our learning.
