  1. I think that the film was soo good.My favourite part of the film was when the monster came to life and told him 3 stories. The film made me feel a little bit emotional because at the end of the movie the mother had died and it was a really sad momment.I would recommend the dilm for ages10+.

  2. When I watched the trailer it was very good; i got very excited for the movie. The film was great because of the monster. the monster looked very amazing. My favourite part is where the drawing of a monster came to life. The film wanted make me cry but I didn’t. This film might be recommended for 10+?

  3. During this movie which was so amazing I had finally figured out that when Connor was being bullied before this even happened this situation can relate to some people who may have experienced this and to be honest the part of the movie that made me feel emotional was when his mom had been fighting cancer but fell off a cliff which was one of the nightmares that Connor had. The mister had changed his life in some way as he had become more strong and more fearless of those bullies at school. My favourite part was probably when he was telling the stories but Connor needed to complete the last story and had to reavela his fears to this monster.

  4. It was an amazing movie, I loved the film! I thought the film was very emotional, when Conner mother died from cancer and when he had to let her go. Also, the movie was interesting because of many different thing such as when the monster gave tales from stories and were in Conners life. The fist one was about his Grandma of the evil queen, the second one was about his mother dying from cancer and the last one is about Conner from being bullied about school, the final one was the truth of Conners nightmare. My favourite part in the movie was when the monster was telling the stories, since they were interesting because of the twists. I would recommend this film to year 6 and over.

  5. Review of monster calls a scary and horror movie:
When I saw the film I felt a bit scared. When the tree came to life,I got so scared
of the stomps.STOMP,STOMP,STOMP!Also when Conners mum dies I felt sorry for him.My favourite part of the film was when the monster told stories to Conner. The film made me feel scared because a I didn’t like the monster because the monster looked scary. Also I felt sad because when Conner found out that his mum had cancer I felt sad for him. Also when Conners mum died I felt sorry because he doesn’t have a mum anymore. Also when his mum died Conner had to live with his grandmother. Also when Conners mum had cancer Conner also had to live with his grandmother for a few days.I would recommend the book for 10 years and above.I think this because if babies and kids see this film they will cry straight away.

Thank you Mrs Frankish and the teachers who planned for us to go to the cinema to watch a fantastic film.πŸ™‚πŸ˜€πŸ˜ƒ.

  6. I thought the film was really good, but a little bit depressing.I really enjoyed the part when the Tree Monster came to life, it was amazing! My favourite part of A Monster Calls was when the boy drew the picture of the Tree Monster, he is an amazing sketcher. The film made me feel a little bit sad, I nearly cried, thankfully I didn’t.I would recommend this film to Year 6 to Year 8, even though it is 12A, they might find the film interesting.

  7. What a great morning! I thought the film was fantastic – my favourite part was when the monster was telling the stories, which were animated. The film has made me think about life and how we can help ourselves to solve problems we may have. It is about resilience and independence! I would recommend this film for children in year 6 – 8. The film is based on a book which I am going to buy and bring into school. Who wants to be the first to read it?

  8. This is what ODEON says about the movie
Super powers exist. Right here on Earth. And they are in the last place you would expect to look; beneath our feet. They include beetles that shoot chemical fire and lift enormous weights; scorpions that glow in the dark with astonishing crushing powers; spiders that can make themselves virtually invisible and hypnotise their prey; even a bug that can transform itself into another creature entirely.

Prepare to be amazed in this 3D giant screen adventure narrated by David Attenborough as we explore the incredible hidden world of the super-powered bugs.
