Good Morning, your task today is to work on your use of Colons, Semi-colons and dashes.
1) Read through the PDF.
2) Watch the video on BBC bitesize and you tube for extra help.
3) Try task 1, 2 & 3.

  1. I just written all my work down and went up to see the pictures at the top and went back down to my comment and it weren’t there so I refreshed and my comment got deleted now I’m sad and I cant write another one 😭

    Using colon
    a – At the seaside the waves crashed noisily against the shore: the storm had whipped up a frenzy of sea-form.

    c – Sadie project was doomed: to fail she had run out of time to finish.c
    d – Colon are used to separate two clause from each other.

    5) there was a bang on my door while a big thunder going through the dark blue sky. Suddenly there was a solider going through a hard day so a young person came and rescued him from the storm. After a while a vampire 🧛‍♂️ came and bite there neck so they turned into a vampire 🧛‍♂️ So they all went on a wired wobbly path and all of a sudden a three headed dragon came and gobbled the vampires up .

    After a long 3 years a rockets came and banged into the dragons and that part of the country were fulled with flaming fire. And when the dragons were walking calmly they fell into a dark black cave and they were stuck in there for another 5 years

    5) As the clouds swarmed in and it got darker a streak of yellow thunder struck a old mysterious house. The large spooky house had enormous rusty gates, that where protected by the lazy, sleepy dragon. Armaan and Faizan slowly tip toed past the last dragon and approached the large cold lifeless door.

    The door was slightly ajar, and Armaan and Faizan slipped through, without making any noise. They silently walked across the corridor, cautious not to make a noise, they entered a long, dark living room. They searched for any antique, however all they found were jars and jars of deep, red blood. They gasped in horror.

    Only to realise that they made a huge mistake. A bat who they didn’t realise was the Dracula, got out of the cage and transformed into a tall, hideous vampire, “I’ve got you know” said Dracula.

    They ran towards the door, but Dracula chased them towards the rocket. Then Armaan and Faizan tricked Dracula into a rocket and launched it to space.

  4. I have done all the tasks in the homework book , I did the handwriting task in my homework book I also set a timer for 20 min , my mum will email my work later. Also my homework book is finished.

  5. I have completed the tasks. I completed reading the pdf. I scored 4/5 on the BBC Bitesize quiz. I had got Q1 wrong. I found it easy I done the little quiz in the penguin video and got it correct. I have completed the learning by questions and found it easy. I also completed handwriting.

  6. I have read the PDF and watched the video I have also completed the tasks on lbq and I am now working my way through the questions and the handwriting task

    • Hi Damanpreet, thank you for trying and reading the task a few times, great perseverance! The task is asking you to come up with your OWN story based on the pictures. You need to find a way to use all the pictures to come up with a story that makes sense. It may seem difficult, but if you plan it out and jot down some ideas about how you want to use the cards this may help.

      Firstly, lets look at each image and say what they are:

      – A weather storm, which looks like thunder and lightning (could this be setting description?)

      A vampire (a beast who comes alive at night time and hunts human flesh and blood, he can also turn into a bat) – Is he going around in the terrible weather?)

      A mythical creature with 3 heads (Think about how you could describe this)

      A rocket ship (How will you link this into your story?)

      The bottle – this seems to be some form of potion, maybe it will do evil things or good things, think about what you want the bottle to be? What will it be used for?

      The inside of a cave – looking over a dark mysterious land (This could link to the horrible weather, maybe someone is watching from there i.e. the vampire? (just an idea)

      Remember if you want to add extra characters or ideas to your story this is fine too! As long as you include all of the images, that is the main thing :)

      Use the above to have a go at writing your own story. You are capable of including:
      – dialogue and speach between characters
      – character and setting descriptions (Use expanded noun phrases to help with this).
      – If you can attempt a relative clause!

    There was a bang as the lightning lit up the sky in the dread of night, a creature appeard! A vampire called count bloodula had come. But he was not a villain , he was a hero. The villain was a boy called zorgo, he was flying in his rocket and then he crashed in a cave. He was found a day later by the police . An evil scientist came up and said he can make him come back to life if he made him into a robot (an inspiration by the book clockwork) he took him to his lab and started by taking out his heart and replacing it with a rare crystal he was starting to stitch it up when the boy started growing into a three headed monster called zargo , the scientist tried to escape but.. he didn’t make it out alive
    Could count boloodula save the city? It ran out of time on the clock 😭

    • Reyan, you have been told countless times not to copy other individuals work. It shows no progress in your learning and you have been warned, not just by myself, but by other members of staff. I am really disappointed as you are capable of so much more. I expect a better attitude in your learning and a considerable improvement please.

      • Thank you Mr Janjua for acknowledging this because it is very upsetting and makes me angry when my works been copied and I have worked really hard on it and then they haven’t put any effort of thought into it.

    • Brilliant Lexi. Lovely start to your descriptive story. I like that you have created suspense with a cliff hanger. Could you check your spelling for ‘appeard’ and add capitals for proper nouns. Your handwriting needs to be written on paper please:) Super effort! Well done Lexi.
