Week 2 in Reception Blue

This week week we continued with our topic ‘Our Favourite Stories’ and focused our learning on the story ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson.

We talked about the witch’s behaviour and how she was a good citizen. We looked at the animals that are in the story and sorted them into sets of animals that fly and do not fly. We also talked about and retold the story using puppets and props. In our writing we thought of adjectives to describe the dragon and used our phonic knowledge to sound out words to write. Our creative task was to make our own magic wand!
In our number work we have been consolidating our knowledge of numbers 1 to 5 and have focused on understanding ‘0’.
