This week we have been continuing with our topic of People who help us and have focused on firefighters. We have looked at what they do and the different ways in which they help us. We have looked at their special uniform that they need to wear and the equipment that they need to do their jobs. The week ended with a special visit from our local firefighters which was very exciting ( see separate blog).🔥👩🚒🚒🧯

Communication and Language-Today we visited the school library to look for non-fiction texts about people who help us. Please take a look at our video to see what we found out.
Literacy–We used our segmenting and blending skills to write about a firefighter’s uniform.
SEAL-We talked about how to keep ourselves safe from strangers.
Maths-We used the appropriate vocabulary to compare heights of children in the class.
EAD– Children used paints to create their own firefighters. They self-selected the correct colours to use.
