Week 4 in RR

We have had an amazing week in reception. As part of our topic this term “people who help us”, we have been focusing on shopkeepers and our book of the week is “The shopping basket” written by John Burningham. We took part in a trip to go and see how shopkeepers help our community. Massive thank you to all the parent who dedicated their time to come and help us on the trip. Pen disco

Children took part in pen disco to develop their pencil control as well as their fine motor skills.

UW: To explore their local area

we went for a walk in our local area visiting lots of shops to learn about shopkeepers and how they help the community.

C&L/EAD: To listen, retell and describe event through pretend play

The children took part in a role play pretending to be shopkeepers and customers.

Maths: To begin to understand number bonds to 10

Children used the large numinous to show different ways of making 5&10.

SMSC: To know what a good friend is and how Jesus made good friends.

Maths: To explore the composition of 10

Children role played being on a bus as part of maths to find composition of 5.

    Wow the trip has definately helped them to understand the shopkeeper roles and how each and every job is different.They are keen to ask questions about every job role now.
