Y4 – Thursday 2nd July – English – Home Learning

Today’s lesson is all about learning key vocabulary of deforestation.

TASK 1

In this first task, you must look through the words on the link below, to learn new vocabulary. Then get someone to test you on what they mean.
https://www.vocabulary.com/lists/245895

TASK 2

Make a game of matching pairs. You will need 2 small pieces of paper or card for each word. On one piece, write the word and on the other write the definition. Then repeat for every word.
For this to work best, you need to keep the words and definitions separate… even better, colour code them by putting coloured dots on the back, or even use different coloured paper if you have it.

Here is an example of one matching pair.

Once you have done all the words, you are read to play. Face all the card downwards in two grids, keeping the words and definitions separate. Take turns with a family member to turn over a word and a definition. If they match, you keep them. The person with the most pairs wins.

This is what your game might look like at the start.

Comment saying who won and who you played with please.
