Hi Year 6, I hope you are safe and well. I know you have been working really hard so I thought I would set you a few riddles to have a go at for fun. I hope you can solve them. I will reveal the answers at the end of the week so that everyone can have a go. Have fun and I look forward to your answers.

How does he cross the river. (You can assume that the fox does not eat the rabbit if the man is present, you can also assume that the fox and the rabbit are not trying to escape and run away).

Three brothers live in a farm. They agreed to buy new seeds: Adam and Ben would go and Charlie stayed to protect fields. Ben bought 75 sacks of wheat in the market whereas Adam bought 45 sacks. At home, they split the sacks equally. Charlie had paid 1400 dollars for the wheat. How much dollars did Ben and Adam get of the sum, considering equal split of the sacks?

    5. You should bring the rabbit, and go back. Then take the fox and leave it at the other side. Go back with the rabbit so the fox doesn’t eat it. Bring the carrots and leave then at the other side with the fox. Bring the rabbit. (You can not leave the carrots with the rabbit because it will eat them. This is why I didn’t do rabbit, then carrot and then fox.)

    So what you have to do is figure out how much one is which is 31.11 then times that by 75 which is 2,333.33 so they each got £2,333.33 each.
