Y6 Reading challenge (Spring 2 2022)

This half term we will be learning about the power of ‘LIGHT’, we thought why not link our reading and summarising skills to create a shadow puppet show!

Your task is to read one of the following stories during half term.
*Read your novel
*Summarise 6 key scenes from your favourite chapter.
*Create your shadow puppets and scenes
*Use a lamp or torch to create your show.
*Upload via the following sharepoint.

Bronze: Listen to the audio books below, choose your favourite to recreate.
The very hungry caterpillar, by Eric Carle
The Gruffalo, by Julia Donaldson
Little Red Riding Hood, by Charles Perrault

Silver: Use our class novel as inspiration for your shadow puppet.
Chapter 1- Skellig

Gold: Select one of the books from the 100 book challenge to recreate as a shadow puppet.
(Share the name of the story, author, why you selected the story and your shadow puppet story-5 minutes maximum)

    Gold:
    I couldn’t record myself saying why I chose this character (Matilda) so instead I made some of the key parts of Matilda and sent them through the Sharepoint and also written it down.

    I have chosen the book Matilda because it has some very interesting parts.
    The author is Roald Dahl.
    I chosen it as the shadow puppet story I would make because it has a lot of unexpected parts, for example her parents just picking her up and running into the car not caring about her, then later on her parents dislike her more as she keeps reading books from the library, then after they got really annoyed they ripped the book up.
