Year 2- Caterpillars & Butterflies (19.05.20)

Hello you lovely lot….. For English this week, Miss Smith has been looking at retelling a story through role play and writing it in your own words. I would like to stay along these lines. So, Caterpillars and Butterflies, today we are going to start by writing simple sentence from parts of  the story I read yesterday….
Winnie and Wilbur Stay at home.”
If you haven’t already heard the story, here is the link to read it yourself. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/api/interactives/30463.html

Your first task today is to rearrange the sentences under the pictures into the correct order so they make sense.

1. home. Winnie to had Wilbur and stay at
2. scientist your don’t face. touch wash said and The your hands
3. Winnie fit. to and Wilbur tried get
4. delicious lunch. Pumpkin made Winnie a
5. home-learning. some Winnie Wilbur and did
6. the for clapped NHS. Winnie rainbow and Wilbur a made and
7. Wilbur reads bedtime a Winnie story.

Well done, you’ve done a great job. Your next task is to try and role play the story with your family. Have fun!

In Maths this week Mr Gordon has introduced position- Position is the place where something or someone is. Some of the words we use when describing where something or someone is are: Above, Below, Infront of Next to, Behind, Inside, On top of, Under.

Using the vocabulary we have just spoken about, try and complete these challenges. Help Ruby find her way around the fairground.

1.Ruby is wandering around the fairground. What is above her?

2. What is in front of Ruby?

3. What is between the coconut shy and the hook a duck?

4. What is far away from the elephant?

5. What is near the elephant?

6. Finish this sentence the elephant is standing _______the ball

Keep up the good work, you are all superstars! Remember to share any work that you are proud of to Y2upload.
