Year Three are studying stories with familiar settings during the Autumn term. Read this familiar setting, then answer the questions below.

    Sophie coudnt sleep.A vibrant shining moonbeam shon through the small gap.The light of moon has gone in the same pillow she was nervasly on.g other lazy sleepy peole were sleeping in there comfy warm fluffy nice bed sleeping for hours and hours.she closed her tired eyes and tried to be lazy.No luck.The light of moon had been looking like a weak knife slowly slicing her face!It was as peace as a grave.Not one sound of the downstairs or up either.The curtian was so wide she could see town.

    I would feel petrified if i was in the dormitory.
    No cars went by the street tells me that there is nobody outside
    not even robbers.

    I think Sophie is still awake because the wind is blowing the curtains and making a monumental sound.
    One simile the auther used is the moonbeem was like a silver blade
    slicing through her eyes.It is effective because instead of using
    boring things like a giant fell and made a loud bang as loud as
    a hundred hard football instead he used a outstanding one called moonbeam.

    Sophie couldn’t sleep for hours.
    A astaggering moonbeam was slanting through a tiny
    gap in the curtains.It was shining right on to her
    fluffy pillow.The other fast asleep children in the
    dormitory had slept for hours.Sophie closed her eyes
    gently and lay quite still.She tried mega firmly to
    dose of.Its no good.The shiny moonbeam was like a
    platinum blade slicing rapidly through her face.
    The house was mega silent,no voices came up from
    downstairs.There was no footsteps on the hushed
    room above.The window behind was open,but there
    was absolutely nobody on the pavement not even
    delivery people.Not a tiny sound would be heard
    anywhere not even in peoples room.Sophie had
    never heard a noiseless sound.

    Sophie couldn’t go to sleep.A powerful moonbeam sided through a small gap in the curtains.It was shining right on to the white pillow.The others that were in the dormitory they were were fast asleep for a very long time.Sophie sat as quiet as mice and still.She tried hard to not go asleep.It was no good.The moonbeam was like a silver blade slicing through the room on her beautiful face.There were none footsteps heard on the top floor and the downstairs floor.The window behind the curtain was wide open,but nobody was walking on the pavement outside.No one cared on the street.Not the tiniest sound cold be heard anywhere.Sophie was shocked how silent it was.

    Sophie couldn’t sleep because the powerful moonbeam was shining on her plain white pillow like the sun.The other people in the dormitory were sleeping on the cosy bed,she tried to close her eyes and sleep but she couldn’t not even one minute.Sophie felt very lonely and couldn’t find someone awake to share her fear and worry.The house was absolutely dark,quiet and spooky,but the moonlight made the room bright like a shimmering rainbow.Outside the building was as empty and silent as desert.She never imagined such silence outside!
