  1. Tyson T.

Friction is something that slows stuff down
    Silver
    They went the same meters

    1. Miss Holland

Good start Tyson. Please watch the video again and think more in-depth about which surface has more or less friction, explain how you know this.

  2. Umama H.

    Bronze
Friction is a force which slows objects down. For example ,if a car had more friction it will be slower but if it had less friction it would go faster.
    Silver
A carpet will have more friction that means the car would move slowly and stop however if you had tiled place and you used the car there would be less friction and the car would go more faster.
    Gold
If I went skeing I would go on less friction because I would go faster but only if I was aa pro but if your a beginer you should go on more force to go slower and not to fast.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

Well done Umama! When do we use friction in everyday situations?

  3. Xlexben F.

    Bronze
Friction is a type of force that slows down the movement of things.
    Silver
My toy car moves faster on the bathroom room floor because the surface is smooth and it moved slower on the carpet in my bedroom.
    Gold
There would be less friction because the ice surface is smooth which makes movement faster.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

Well done Xlexben. How does friction work?

  4. Oluwaduminu S.

    Bronze
Friction is a force that can slow things down
    Sliver
I know the tile floor had less Friction.
The carpet took longer while tile floor didn’t take that long. (4secs Carpet floor.) (2 secs tiled floor) So that how I know the carpet had more friction and the other one didn’t have much friction.
    Gold
I would personally have less fraction so it doesn’t take long time to come back.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

      How does friction work Dumni?

  5. Awais W.

    Bronze
Friction is a force which slows objects down. For example,if a car had more friction it will be slower but if it had less friction it would go faster.

    Silver
A smooth surface will make it have less friction because it is not that rough so it can run smooth and fast while if it was a rocky surface it will have more friction because it will get slowed down by the rocks. I know because I ran a toy car on a smooth surface and a rocky surface. The smooth surface took 5 secs and the rocky surface took 3 secs to run.
    Gold
I would want less friction because then I can go more faster.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

Well done Awais. Are you running for the gold challenge? Read the question again.

  6. Sania K.

    Bronze
    What is a Friction?
Friction is a running force what can make things go fast and slow .
    Silver
A table has less fiction and a blanket has more friction so the blanket is slow and the table is fast .

    1. Mrs Khaliq

Well done Sania. Answer gold too please.

  7. Hanfaa N.

    Friction is a rubbing force.
Going down has less friction and going up has more friction.
I would have more friction so I could go slow.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

Which surfaces have more and less friction?

  8. Ameen K.

    **Bronze :
friction is a rubbing force that stop things going fast.
    **Silver :
Bumpy surfaces make stuff go slower on it but surfaces that are smooth make vehicle go faster.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

Does less friction slow things down?

      1. Ameen K.

        No it makes them faster

  9. Mohammed W.

    Bronze: What is friction?
Friction is type of force that slows things down.
Silver: Which surface have more or less friction? How do you know?
I know that a hard surface makes more friction because the ground is hard so that means it will make more friction however, a smooth surface will make less friction because it is flat so that means there is less friction.
Gold: If I went skiing would I want there to be more or less friction? Explain.
You would need less friction because the people need to slide down the mountain so that means it needs less friction.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

      How does friction work?

      1. Mohammed W.

Friction works if something is on a hard surface then friction makes it stop.

  10. Tipian I.

    Bronze
A friction is when the floor is rubbing the object and it goes faster or slower .
    Silver
    The tissue is 1 second.
My mum’s phone is 3 second.
My craft box is 4 second.
    The remote is 6 second.
    The orange is 8 second.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

What makes objects go faster? More or less friction?

  11. Romeesa T.

    Bronze
Friction is a force that slows things downs .
    Silver
The toy car is less fore because the item is slows.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

      How does friction work Romeesa?

  12. Karanbir B.

    Bronze
Friction is a force that slows things down.
    Silver
Going down is less friction going up is more friction.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

How does friction work Karanbir? What happens with less friction?

  13. Mohammed S.

    Rough surface – Rug – 1.10 seconds
    Smooth surface – Laminate – 0.5 seconds
If you are on a smooth surface you will have less friction and that meant it will role further/faster.
If you were skiing you would want less friction otherwise you would stop in the middle of the track.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

Can you tell me what friction is and how it works?

  14. Ayaan M.

    1) friction is a rubbing force.
    2) going up has more friction and going down has less friction.
    3) If I was doing skiing I would have less friction because I would go faster.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

A good start Ayaan. How does friction work?

  15. Tana I.

    Bronze
Friction is a force that slows things downs.
    Silver
The table is less fore because items slows.
    Gold
Yes because it will be fast

    1. Mrs Khaliq

A good try Tana. How did friction work?

  16. Miski M.

Friction is a type of force that slows things down. It is a rubbing force like push a toy car on something rubber it will go slower and if I push it on something softer it will go faster.
    Silver
It would be something rubber because it is hard to go faster even if you push harder it won’t go faster.
    Gold
There would be less friction because would be easier to ski and to turn when you hit the slopes.

    1. Mrs Khaliq

Well done Miski. What everyday objects or situations use friction?

  17. Yedullah S.

    Bronze
Friction is a force which slowes objects down. For example,if a car had more friction it will be slower but if it had less friction it would go faster.

    1. Mrs Begum

      Well done Yedullah .
Can you give me some examples how is friction used in everyday life?

  18. Sarah A.

    Bronze
    What is a friction ?
A friction is a surface that rubs together .
    Silver
I push a car on the floor it took 4 seconds I pushed it on the carpet it took 6 seconds. I know that the carpet has more frictions because 6 is bigger than 4 .
    Gold
You would want less friction because you could slip when you are trying to stop.

    1. Mrs Begum

Sarah can you explain to me why the car took longer to stop on the carpet?

  19. Kanishka P.

    Bronze
Friction means when it slows down .
    Silver
I chose the kitchen floor because it is less friction.
    Gold
I would chose less friction because I can go fast.

    1. Mrs Begum

Kanishka can you redo your questions and answer giving more details please?

  20. Sanad S.

    Bronze: What is friction?
A friction is a thing that slows something down. If your role something on a thing like the table.
Silver: the surface that has more friction is the carpet because it took my car 4 seconds to stop and on the table my car took 6 seconds to stop

    1. Mrs Begum

What kind of thing is a friction Sanad? Is it a object or a force?
Silver: the surface that has more friction is the carpet because it took my car 4 seconds to stop and on the table my car took 6 seconds to stop
      Can you explain why ?

  21. Saffa M.

Friction is a thing that slows things down
The floor has more friction because it has a slower time.

    1. Mrs Begum

Hi Saffa What thing is a friction? Is it an object or an force?
Silver: Which surface have more or less friction? How do you know?
      Explain.

  22. Markuss B.

    Bronze
Friction is a rubbing force and it stops when you want it to.
    Silver
On the carpet the car went 85 centermeters far
On the floor the car went 140 centermeters far.
These recordings were different because one had more friction and one had less friction.
    Gold
If I sent skeing I would want less friction so I could go further.

  23. Ibrahim M.

    Gold:
If I was to go skiing, I would rather have less friction because this way, I can go further and faster while i’m skiing.

    1. Mrs Begum

Great Ibraheem. Can you tell me some activities that use friction?
What will happen to the friction when an item moves on a rough surface?

      Nothing.

      It will decrease.

      It will increase.

  24. Aarav R.

    Bronze
Friction is the force that makes your vehicle get slower when you go down a slope.
    Silver
Bumpy surfaces make stuff go slower on it but surfaces the are smooth make stuff go faster.
    Gold
Less friction because then you can go faster.

  25. Elham S.

    Bronze
Fraction is a thing which slows things down.
A toy car if you push it will get force if you push it down it will go fast and then it will go slower and slower.

    1. Mrs Begum

Hi Elham why would your car go slower? Can you complete the rest of the questions to please. Would the car take longer to stop on a smooth surface or a rough surface ? Explain why.
Silver: Which surface have more or less friction? How do you know?
Gold: If I went skiing would I want there to be more or less friction? Explain.

      1. Elham S.

The car would go slower because it’s going up and not down.
        silver
It will take longer on a smooth serface because i tried it once on a scate park and eventually broke my right arm.
        Gold
More friction because it can go faster.

  26. Noah J.

My monster truck on the carpet took 3seconds.
My monster truck on the wooden floor took 6 seconds.
    Bronze: What is friction?
Friction is the thing that stops things that can roll and stops it.
Silver: Which surface have more or less friction? How do you know?
The wooden floor because it’s smoother than carpet.
Gold: If I went skiing would I want there to be more or less friction?
Less friction because you won’t stop easily.

    1. Mrs Begum

Well done Noah. Can you explain your gold challenge giving more detail as why you think that?

What will happen to the friction when an item moves on a rough surface?
      Nothing.
      It will decrease.
      It will increase.

  27. Estera V.

    Bronze: What is friction?
Friction is a rubbing force and it stops when you want to stop it when you want and for example car toy I push it on the floor and I get 4 sec and I push it on a table and I get 7 sec .

    1. Mrs Begum

Hi Estera. Can you explain why it took longer to stop on the table?

  28. Ebenezer O.

    Bronze
A friction is something that can go fast or slow like if there is less friction a car goes fast.If there is more friction a car goes slow.
    Silver
A carpet in would have more friction because it is rough

    1. Mrs Begum

Hi Ebenezer. Why do think the carpet had more friction?
Please complete gold . Make sure you explain your answer.

  29. Inayha H.

    Bronze
Friction is a kind of force for example if a car was going down a hill and you want to stop then you will stop perfectly because Friction has the power to stop the cars from moving.
    Silver
I tested and on carpet it took four seconds and on a glass table it took four seconds as well. They are both the same friction.
    Challenge
    Glass : 4 seconds
    Carpet: 4 seconds
    Plastic : 2 seconds
    Tile floor:5 seconds
    Wood: 5 seconds

    1. Mrs Begum

Inayha can you watch the teach video again and answer the bronze question. What surface has more friction a rough or smooth surface?

  30. Najma O.

    Bronze: What is friction?
Friction is a rubbing force and it stops when you want to stop it when you want and for example car toy I push it on the floor and I get 4 sec and I push it on a table and I get 7 sec .

    1. Miss Redhead

Well done, please try the other challenges.

    2. Najma O.

      Silver
The first one is less than the second one I now that because 5 is less than 7 .

    3. Mrs Begum

Well done 👍🏻. Why did the car take longer to stop on the table?
