Today we have been Anglo Saxons!
Well done to all of the Year 4 children who have made an effort to dress up as an Anglo Saxon. You all look fantastic!
We have experienced a range of activities today to help us to understand how the Saxons lived. How was Saxon life different from life today?
We read Saxon riddles and used our inference skills to solve them. We also completed Saxon maths problems!
We used our Broad Heath diner to work as a team to make bread. Why did we make bread? How would it have been different during the Anglo Saxon era?
In the school grounds, we cultivated the land. We dug a well, foraged for sticks and planted wheat seeds. What will wheat help us to make? Why did you dig a well and forage for sticks?
You practised your weaving skills. Why did the Saxons need to weave? What did they use?
Below is a video showcasing some of your learning today!
