On Thursday 10th February, teams from 4 Blue, 4 White and 4 Red took part in this term’s Sports Champion’s curling competition. All students were very proud to represent their class, and they were keen to show what they could do. The group stages saw each team play the others. 4 Blue finished top with 2 wins, so went onto contest the final. This left 4 White (2nd) and 4 Red (3rd) to play in the semi-final to see which team would get a shot at the trophy.
The semi final was indeed a tense affair, with 4 White winning the first end. However, 4 Red triumphed in the next 2 ends to see them win their first match of the tournament and book their place in the final. Again in the final, 4 Red lost the first end, but they came back to win the next 3 to seal the title of champions for this half term.
Well done to all students who took part, as they respect, teamwork and sportsmanship was evident throughout. A special well done to 4 Red, who showed great tenacity and resilience not to give up from loosing positions, but persevere and come out on top.
