    •Parts of rainforests the size of a football pitch are being cut down every minute.

    •If this continues, all the rainforests will be gone in less than a century.

    •Without rainforests, global warming will rise faster than usual.

    •The golden lion tamarin monkey is a monkey that lives only in the Amazon. If they continue cutting down rainforests, these monkeys will go extinct.

    •There are about 400 tribes in the Amazon, each with their own languages and cultures. If we destroy the Amazon, we will lose many unique languages, cultures and people.
