There is carban dioxide in the atmasphrere .
They make flood because trees are cut down and the water han nowere to go.
when the trees are cut down the people have made land to make town, villages and homes.
when trees are cut down people can transport there thing to far away places easily

Fact 4: The rate of deforestation equals the loss of 36 football fields every minute.

Fact 5: There are more than 121 natural remedies in the rain forest, which can be used as medicines.

  3. 1. Forests cover about 30% of the worlds land area.
    2. Between 1990 and 2016, the world lost 502,000 square miles of forest.- this is an area bigger than South Africa.
    3. About 17% of the Amazonian Rainforest has been destroyed over the past 50 years.
    4. Deforestation affects the people and animals where trees are cut. There are around 250million people living in forest and savannah areaswho depend on them for survival and income. 80% of the worlds land animals and plants live in the forests and deforestation threatens species such as the Orangutan, Sumatran tiger and many species of birds. #
    5. The Amazon rainforest influences regional and possibly global water cycles and is essential in the water supply to Brazil and other neighbouring countries. The loss of clean water and biodiversity from the forests could be devastating.

. Over half of the Amazon rainforest is located in Brazil and Soth America.
.The trees in the Amazon rainforest have lots of Oxygen.
.The Amazon River is the second largest river.
. Rainforest are often called lungs of the planet for their role in absorbing carbon dioxide.

      • Tropical rainforests are often called the “lungs of the planet” because they generally draw in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. Carbon dioxide increases each year as a result of burning fossil fuels and deforestation.

  9. THE CAUSE AND EFFECT OF DEFORESTATION:
    1) The effect of the loss of trees will affect the animals and the ingenious people that live in the tribes.
    2) One cause of deforestation is that wood companies illegally chop down trees for money. They are very greedy.
    3) The rainforest produces 20% of the Earth’s oxygen so if we chop it down, we will lose oxygen…
    4) Farming and cattle grazing is responsible for 80% of the deforestation in the rainforest.
    5) Finally, if wood companies carry on chopping down trees, the rainforest will become a desert.

      • Removing trees and other vegetation stops available shelter for animals to live in. – Any habitat that is left may not be big enough to support all the animals. – If there is less rainforest animals are more likely to come across humans. – there is an increased risk of predators, as there are fewer places to hide.

    * We have to much carbon dioxide.
    * Floods keep happening.

    The rainforests absorb
    *Carbon dioxide
    *Greenhouse gas
    * Produced oxygen

    Deforestation is a problem because

    • Wow Gufran! This is a fantastic piece of work and an outstanding effort made. These notes will be very useful to use later on in your learning of this. Which type of bird species are there?

  28. There are several different types of rainforests.
Rainforests cover less than 3 percent of the planet.
The world’s largest rainforest is the Amazon rainforest.
Rainforests house more species of plants and animals than any other terrestrial ecosystem.
Much of the life in the rainforest is found in the trees.

    6. Forests cover 30% of the earth’s land.
    7. he total world forest loss to date is 7.3 million hectares per year.

    • Excellent notes Sadeen, well done!
How much of a negative impact does flooding and soil erosion have on the environment and Earth?
How will having acres of wood chopped down effect animals?

  30. In 1 minute a area the size of a football pitch is destroyed
Rainforests cover 30% of the world
The animals will get hurt and their homes will be broke.
Fires could happen lots more because of the fallen trees.
The trees produce 20% of the worlds oxygen.

  31. – the area will become just grass and animals and there will be no oxygen
-every day it is cut at the size of a football pitch
-some animals and bugs that live in trees will have nowhere to live
-the animals and bugs that live on trees might eat leaves but when all the trees are cut down, they will have nothing to eat
-the animals will die without the trees to give them oxygen

  32. 5 Facts about the Amazon Rainforest:
    1) The size of a football pitch is now being cleared every minute.
    2) The area of the rainforest covers 20 times the size of Britain that means only 2 thirds of it is in Brazil.
    3) It makes a lot of carbon dioxide every year and it produces 20% oxygen in the atmosphere.
    4) They just chop down the trees to make farmland and the rainforest has never been under such pressure.
    5) The conservation area is being destroyed and many people are marking areas that are being protected.

  33. Over 400 fruits and veg grow in the rainforest
reiceves heavy rain in most areas
lots of animal spicious in a rainforest.

    Biodiversity lost

  37. 1. Species of animals become extinct.
    2. Have too much carbon dioxide, is harmful for Earth’s atmosphere.
    3. Roots of trees absorb water, without trees the water will cause floods.
    4. Due to floods, animals and humans homes are damaged.
    5. Trees provide oxegyn, without oxegyn animals or humans can not breathe.

    • Good notes Manvi, well done!
      Species such as?…
How is too much carbon dioxide harmful to the Earth’s atmosphere?
How are they damaged? What can we do to protect animal’s habitats?

  38. *It produces 20% of the worlds oxygen

  39. Why do people chop trees?
People chop trees to sell wood paper stuff like that could make a big company. It is also very greedy.
The rainforest goes through many states such as Suriname,Brazil, Ecuador and Venezuela.
Deforestation is dangerous because people could die without trees how can we live. Trees give oxygen and carbon dioxide without them gasses we can’t survive.
People that chop trees are rich making money surely, but that’s a bad way of earning money. The cost of deforestation, animals becoming extinct there habitats being destroyed for what reason in the end all things and everything has a reason to be on earth just like us.

    • Great notes Zak. Why do you think it is greedy if they are using it to make wood and paper?
How else can we help the environment without damaging animals habitats?

    • Great facts Aleena, well done!
Why do you think it is estimated that there will be no rainforests in 100 years?…
How does having acres of wood and forest cut down have a negative impact on the environment and animals habitats?

  41. Rainforests are a powerful natural climate solution.
Tropical forests have become a net carbon emitters.
Tropical rainforests cover less than 3% of Earth’s area
The howler monkey is the loudest animal in the rainforest
Rainforests play an essential role in maintaining the Earth’s limited supply of fresh water.

  42. The loss of trees and other vegetation can cause climate change, soil , fewer crops, flooding, increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, and a host of problems for some people.

    • How can dangers and disadvantages such as having less soil, fewer crops and flooding have an impact on the environment and animals/habitats?
