Year 4 Maths Investigation Week: Board games evaluation!
Year 4 had great fun this week designing a new board game based on their Scientific and Mathematical learning from last half term.
The children were asked to follow the success criteria below:
- Design and create your own mathematical games with a spin, based on Science.
- Use sugar paper to draw, label and design.
- Think about what mathematical skills you want to apply.
- You will be asked to explain your game before you make it.
- Identify any potential problems with games and see if you can address these during the design process.
- Create a list of equipment you will need to make your game.
Now you have created your games using your plans, we would like you to evaluate the successes and improvement points.
- Did your game work? Are you able to play it successfully?
- What do you like most about the game you have created?
- What are the improvement points for your game?
- Were any of your plans difficult to create? Why?
Challenge: Create a poster advertising your game for sale. How much would you charge? Who is your target audience? What will children gain by playing your game? Bring your posters in for our WOW wall!
