Year 4 – To read and understand a description in Spanish

Mrs Kiani

This week we have learnt some additional vocabulary to describe ourselves in Spanish.

Here is a reminder of the vocabulary we learnt in class: grande – big, pequena – small, largo – long, liso – smooth, rizado – curly, corto – short, rubio – blonde, limpias – clean, podridos – rotten, blancos – white

Based upon the vocabulary above and the vocabulary you have learnt previously of parts of the face and colours, can you please translate the following descriptive paragraphs.

Hola! Me llamo Bob. Tengo el pelo negro y rizado. Mi nariz es muy pequena. Tengo los ojos verdes. Tengo los dientes limpios.

Hola! Me llamo Jessica. Tengo los ojos azules. Tengo la nariz grande. Mi pelo es largo, liso y rubio. Tengo los dientes blancos.

Challenge: Using the written models above, can you please write your own descriptions about your face.

      Good job Sania, but can you check all your Spanish spellings please as some are incorrectly spelt. ‘Corto’ is the word for short in Spanish.

      Good work Maryam. Can you finish off your description please as you have just shared your name and eye colour. The correct word is ‘llamo’ and when you are talking about more than one (plural) then the word ”marron’ has ‘es’ added to it so that it becomes ‘marrones’
