Today, year 4 visited the  local library. We visited the library to find out about Anglo Saxon laws. We learnt how to take notes so later in the week, we will be converting these into accurate sentences and eventually write a non- chronolgical text.

What information did you learn about Anglo Saxon laws today?

  1. Anglo-Saxon Currency is shillings. If you were accused of committing a crime you had to suffer trial by ordeal a harsh punishment (eg: Carrying a hot iron bar).

  2. Wow that trip was so good I learnt lots of information about the Anglo-Saxons when we next go to the library I will look for a anglo-Saxon book so I can get lots more information about Anglo-Saxons so I can make a timeline of Romans Vikings and Anglo-Saxons

  3. Well done Hargun. Aryan think about the question you have been asked. The Anglo Saxon Laws? Can anyone tell me what it meant by trial by ordeal and why they did this in those days?
