To develop and consolidate our multiplication knowledge, we went outside onto the playground to play a range of games. We recalled our multiplication facts and identified factors and multiples.
Hopscotch
We identified multiples and factors, including all factor pairs of a number and common factors of two numbers.
We had a number grid in chalk on the playground. Children found multiples and factors of given numbers.
Challenge: Choose 3 numbers and list all their factors.
Factor Kings
We identify factors and prime numbers under pressure using a nerf ball to engage children.
We made a circle and and threw a ball around asking each other to identify the different factors within that number.
Challenge – Can you name 3 prime numbers between 1 and 50.
Stairway to success
We identify factors and multiples in teams to engage children.
We got into groups and the teacher called out multiplication facts. If we wrote the correct answer on the white board we were able to leap forward. If not we had to stay where we were. It was first to get across the netball pitch. It was loads of fun and we all worked together and showed respect and resilience.
