Year 5 Blue Dance The Locomotion!

We have had a fantastic start to Performance Week in 5 Blue! The children explored what makes a good audience, before learning some popular 1960’s dance moves such as The Pony, The Hand Jive and The Chicken Head! The children were tasked with choreographing their own dance routine to ‘The Locomotion’ and produced some brilliant results!

Which dance move was your favourite or the easiest to learn and why?

Why was dancing an significant pastime in the 1960’s?

I think that the chicken head was the easiest move to learn because you only had to move your head like a chicken.
Dancing was a significant pastime in the 1960’s because there were not things like laptops, TV’s and phones.
