Warning: if you are just joining us this week then you have a lot to catch up on. First you must read Mr Janjua’s expectation blog: https://www.broadheath.coventry.sch.uk/tuesday-2nd-june-year-5-project-week-entrepreneur-week-outline-expectations/
Then you must complete the tasks, starting from Monday.
YOU CANNOT COMPLETE TODAY’S WORK IF YOU HAVE MISSED THE PLAN IT, MAKE IT, PLAY IT STAGE!
Task 1: Plan Your Pitch!
What is a pitch?
A pitch is a presentation of a business idea to potential investors (people that will give your business money to help the business in return for some money back later).
People pitch a business because they need resources (resources could be materials to make the products, advertising, space to make the product, a place to sell the product from and a huge variety of things).
Your goal is to raise startup money, the target of the pitch is an investor. (Other businesses pitch to potential customers to sell their product. Finally, some organisations pitch because they need a partner or resource to help them accomplish their mission.)
Watch this pitch below to see how the girls pitch their ideas. Think about what else they could have included, so the dragons did not have to ask as many questions.
Now you need to plan your pitch!
You are going to be pitching your idea to the Dragons on Dragons’ Den.
For your plan we want you to make notes that answer the following sections for your presentation. You can write this in note form, and then look at adding in persuasive language and features. (See the word bank below)
Pitch the business (explain what your product is and why it’s amazing)
– What is your company called?
– What is my product/game?
– How is it different to games that have come before? Why is it unique?
– Who is it designed to appeal to? What age ranges will buy it?
– Why will they buy it? (Eid/Christmas/Diwali gift?)
– How will you make it become the new popular thing for children?
– What are the benefits of your grame/product? (fitness/mindfulness/coordination development/social skills)
Make notes on why your product is the best and why the dragons should invest in it.
