Children return to school Mon 8th April

Today Year 5 were very lucky to be part of the session led by Jay and Sash and they were able to show us how to keep safe both in face to face situations and online.  The information they shared was invaluable and will help keep us safe.

1. What do you feel was the most important thing you learnt today?

2. Who could you speak to if you were worried?

You were all brilliant Broad Heath Citizens including Ms Janjua and Shaun for sharing some of their photographs.

Thank you

An excellent way to get some very important messages across. Well constructed.

I learnt that if you feel worried you need to speak up or speak to an adult or teacher around you I also learnt the pants rule.
    Privates are private
Always remember that your body belongs to you
    No means no
Talk about the secrets that upset you
    Speak up,someone can help

  3. Rayyan H.

It was the pants rules because there start with different letters.
If I was worried I will tell the teacher or my parents

  4. Nabeel A.

I meant that person isn’t your actual friend.

  5. Nadia M.

The most important thing I’ve learnt even though I wasn’t there that pants stands for privates stands for private.

I have learnt that to not ever make friends with people I don’t know because i never know who they are and what they can do to me.

I had also learnt from the PANTS rule…

    Privates are private.
Always remember your body belongs to you.
    NO means NO.
Talk about secrets that upset you.
    Speak up, someone can help.

The most important thing I learnt was to not share my personal information and if you are online with someone it should be a friend or someone you trust because if you’re online with a random person they could pretend to be your age and lie. Then you might become friends but that person is your actual friend. If I was worried I would tell an adult because they are older and they know what to do.Then they could tell the police and get it started.

The most important part of the assembly for me when they started to speak with us about the pants rule. This linked with some of the scenes they showed when Zoey or Mason we’re told to post in appropriate pictures of themselves. This links with rule of the letter N in PANTS ,which means no means no. If anyone was to do that to you, you need to say no as it is making you feel uncomfortable. As well as the letter A ,which means always remember your body belongs to you. This is really important as it is showing if you feel uncomfortable doing it, it is your body and your in charge of it! If that happened to me, I would definitely tell my parents, teachers, family members and people that I trust. I would not be that confident to tell the police so Instead I would rather tell one of those people to tell the police for me!

I could speak to my mum, dad, family, relatives , friends and teachers and TA

  11. Salma H.

The most important thing I have learnt from this assembly is that you shouldn’t be posting pictures of yourself. Also if someone is forcing you to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable you must say NO because this might have an impact on that person. You could speak to your parents, your teachers and child line.

I have learnt a new rule called pants and this stands for
    Privets are always private
Always remember your body belongs to yourself
    No means no
Talk about secrets that upset you
    Speak up someone can help
It is important to keep safe online because someone could say there your age but are they really they maybe older then you think. The word grooming means someone touching you inappropriate way this may not always be physical but verbally if this worries you speak up to someone you trust, because this is what happened to jack because his dad’s friend was baby sitting him and he also manipulated the boy with presents to let him touch jack.

  14. Nuh M.

The most important thing I have learnt in the assembly was that if anyone tells you to do something you can just say no as they do not have control over your life and they can not control you.I have also learnt the pants rule.

  15. Shaakira K.

I have learnt what to do when I get threatened.I will tell someone I can be respected with and someone I trust.

I have learnt that when you are playing games with other people you don’t know and they ask you to do something stupid, u should NEVER do that because it could be something inappropriate or disgusting that u might never want to hear about. If they tell you to do it for something in return for the game, then why would you do it?Just for the game?
I would speak to someone I can really trust sush as my parents teachers and best friends.

If I was worried I would go and tell an adult I trust.I will do this because if I tell someone I do not trust they will not care and keep it to themselves.
