Today is your creative writing task. Tasks 1,2,3 and 5 can be done on paper or in your book.
PLEASE COMPLETE TASK 4 ON THE BLOG!
Good morning Year 5.
Today I have set you a similar task to that which you completed last week with the little stone door. This week I challenge you to uplevel your work. Were there any features you could have added to your story? Use the Bronze, Silver and Gold challenge to guide you (and use the document showing each writing style to help too). Can you do better than you originally thought? Push yourselves for your last piece of fiction writing this academic year!
Task 1: Answer the questions and use your imagination, you can keep your answers simple. If you’re not sure about what beast or creature could be coming out of the door use this website to help: https://kids.kiddle.co/Legendary_creature click on the link of one of these and use it as your inspiration.
(If you have seen Shrek, you could apply that story to this task)
Task 2: You have been given the words:
Take the sentence that starts with ‘Ben…’ and fill in the ____ blanks with one of those 3 words.
Task 3: Make these 3 sentences better by adding descriptive language!
Task 4: Use all the knowledge you have gained over this term to write a story. Use the sentence “One day, the heavy, wooden doors slowly began to open with a groan…”
Bronze: Capital letters, full sentences, full stops.
Silver: Expanded noun phrases, adverbs, fronted adverbials & a simile.
Gold: Metaphor/Personification, relative clause, subordinate clause with subordinate conjunction
Task 5: Draw a picture of the tree OR draw a picture of the creature.
