Having a bank account is a good thing as your money in a bank is more safe then loose cash in someone’s house. This is because if you bring lots of money when you go out people can spot you with the money.
They can then find out where you live and can rob your house as houses aren’t as secure as banks. It would take longer to plan to rob a bank then plan to rob a house.

What are the golden rules for emails or texts from unknown people?
Block them and report them to the police or a responsible adult.
¿ What is ‘Fraud’ ?
Fraud is the act of deception, of someone or a thing, typically it is intended for personal gain, whether that be financially, or emotionally. When people are frauds for emotional/mental gain, they do this by claiming unjustified accomplishments or rare qualities, to boost there self esteem or to get someone to trust them.
¿ What new information did you learn from this video ?
From this video I learnt about the names of different types of frauds, also known as ‘scams’. If someone, falsely try to play the role of your bank, when truly they are scammers/fraudsters they ask for personal information, this is known as phishing. Another scenario would be when a scammer/fraudster contacts you via. SMS text – commonly called smishing. One of the others ways is when the scammer/fraudster calls you for private information, which is referred to as vishing. I also learnt that in the year of 2012, scammers/fraudsters attempted to steal £3,000,000,000!
¿ What can you do to protect yourself from fraud ?
If you receive an email from your bank, they should always call you by your name, not by ‘dear customer’ another clue is spelling mistakes, it is extremely unlikely that an official document from your bank, will have spelling mistakes. Also look out for ‘𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗻𝘁𝘀’ bank emails are also very straight forward, meaning a fake bank email/letter will not try to turn a huge issue into a small problem. If the scammer/fraudster sends you a link, never press in it as it can steal your information e.t.c. Also banks will never ask you to transfer money, or for private information, such as your 4 – digit pin, and your card details.
¿ Why is it important to have a bank account ?
A bank account is essential as, having a bank account can be a great tool for managing your personal finances. Account statements can help you estimate/determine how and where you are spending your money and put you on track for a reasonable savings plan. To add to this , personal savings accounts often pay interest, which practically earns you free money.
