During the ‘stormy’ lunch times Year 6 have been going about the school and supporting in other classes.

I decided to go for a wander and see how helpful the year 6s were being and was WOWed by the experience.

I saw many examples of engaged and supportive children.

Here’s a few pictures!

Please comment on the things that you have been doing to support the children in their classrooms or the school community.

The children have been absolutely amazing. The children that helped in Reception Blue on Tuesday were excellent role models. They helped by reading stories, helping the children make houses out of Lego and decorating hearts. Some even helped to cut out more hearts when the resources had been used.
    Thank you very much

    1. Mr Inman

I saw those hearts! When the year 6s try hard, the younger children respond positively. It’s been a great start.

I have been selected to work for reception red. It’s fun to go down younger years and see what they have been doing, learning new names and possibly make some younger friends while we work with them! I don’t read with them as there only in reception but I have been helping sad children, helping them to create new friends and possibly have made them a best friend forever! I hope we have more wet plays so we can spend more time with them!

    1. Mr Inman

This is one of the most lovely comments that I’ve ever read on the blog. It’s amazing how much satisfaction we can get from making someone else’s life better!

    2. Miss Vega

It is wonderful watching friendships blossom isn’t it! I am sure they will remember how you helped them forever!

  22. Elyas S.

I really enjoyed helping other teachers.

    1. Mr Inman

Your personality really suits helping and supporting others Elyas. Maybe you could teach the younger children how to do a rubiks cube (without a blindfold)!!

  23. Yalda N.

I love helping others as it also inspires them to help others as well. πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ‘ˆπŸ½πŸ˜ƒ

Well done Yalda. I was thinking about doing some reading buddies when you’re up there so you read with the same 2 or 3 children? I’ll speak to you about it after the break.
