Year 6 End-Ball Tournament.

On Wednesday 20th November year 6 competed in the latest round of the year 6 Sports Champions Trophy. This term, the sport was end-ball, a team game based on passing and movement. In the group stages, the games were close fought, with lots of good teamwork and communication on display. It was however 6 Red that won the group stage, which left 6 White and 6 Blue to contest the semi – final.

6 White were the favorites to win the semi-final as they had beaten 6 Blue 3-0 in the group stages. Blue started off well though with a brilliant set of passes between Kinzah, Farhan and Omar led to the first score. The blues then quickly doubbled their tally, with some more fantastic teamwork, this time with Jessica and Abdul linking well. 6 White finally go themselves back into the game, with a score coming from a pass between Leeda and Zack. However, this was all they could come up with, and 6 Blue sealed their place in the final with one more score from Omar.

The final was a tense game, with no score coming in the first 3 minutes. It was 6 Red who broke the deadlock, after a long pass from Mario found Leona who found Ayub in the end zone to score. They followed up with another in quick succession, after Leena and Mahamad combined well. With time fading fast, 6 Blue closed the deficit by 1 but it was too little, too late.

Congratulations then go to Mario, Humza, Leona, Leena, Ayub and Mahamad for winning the year 6 trophy off 6 White, and going top of the year 6 sports champion’s table. We look forward to seeing how the tournament will unfold next term.
