  1. Task 1
In the poem there was a three year old boy and he fell in a nettle bed and it said that bed is a curious name for the green spear it wasn’t a place to rest and it describe the nettle with adjective .

    Task 2
The phrase ‘he came with sobs and tears ‘ suggest that the mum doesn’t treat her badly and phrase ‘the white blisters and benders on his tender skin’ mean that his skin his rough .

    Task 3
The sentence mean that the boy will be stronger with his feelings

  2. Task 1
There is a young boy who has fell into a bed of nettles. He went to his mother for so she soothed him until his pain was gone.
    Task 2
The quote ‘slashed in fury with it till not a nettle in the fierce parade’ suggest that the mother is caring towards her son.The phrase ‘Soothed him till his pain was not so raw’suggests that his mother comforts whenever he is need of help.
    Task 3
I think the sentence suggests tthat she destroyed the ne nettles but then in two weeks the nettles hed grown back and her son started the feel the pain of the nettles again.

  3. Task 1:
A young boy has fallen into a nettle bed and has hurt himself. His mother soothes him gets rid of the nettle bed so he can’t hurt himself again. However the nettles grow back.
    Task 2:
The mother is loving and protective towards her child .The phrase ‘soothed him’ tells me that the mother helped him after he was hurt. The phrase ’till not a nettle in that fierce parade stood upright anymore’ tells me that the mother wants to keep her child safe and wants to get rid of the nettles so he cannot be hurt.
    Task 3:
I think the last line of the poem means that as the nettles have grown back it is certain that he will hurt himself again. The nettle bed will cause him pain like before.

  4. Task 1:

The was a 3 year old boy,who had fallen on a bed of nettles.
Then the boy came to seek comfort so his mother soothed him until the pain wasn’t so raw. Next she went into the garden to cut down the nettles but with the help of the sun and rain the nettles grew again, the mother was scared that her son would get hurt again.

    Task 2:

The poet’s (mother’s) feelings towards the son is care, protection and love. The evidence that led me to this is that it says ‘And went outside and slashed in fury with it till not a nettle in that fierce parade stood upright any more’. If she didn’t feel this way towards her son, she wouldn’t of done this.

    Task 3:

I think the last line means that because he was really in pain that day when he fell into the nettle bed, when ever he sees it that pain would come back. Due to the nettle bed always regrowning he will always feel the pain.

  5. Task1.
There was a 3 years old boy he has fallen Into
The nettle bed suddenly he hurt himself. However
His mum soothes him until he feels more better
After that his mum cuts down the nettle bed suddenly the nettle bed
Grew again and his mum was worried because she thinks
that he may hurt himself again.

    Task2.
The Poet’s feelings towards her son is love and she also
Cares for him because if she didn’t care for him she wouldn’t
    Burnt the nettle bed.

    Task3.
I think the last line of the poem means
that her son would never forghet the pain that
    He had.

  6. Task 1:

A 3 year old boy has fallen in a nettle bed. He has hurt himself and his mum soothes him until he feels better. Then the mum cuts down the nettle bed but with the rain and sun, the nettle bed grew again and he may hurt himself again.

    Task 2:

I think the mum’s (poet’s) feeling towards her son is that she loves him, is protective over him and cares for him. The evidence, ‘we soothed him’ led me to this. She protects her son by burning the nettle bed and soothes him until his pain wasn’t as bad. If she didn’t love him, she wouldn’t have done this.

    Task 3:

I think that the last line of the poem means that because the nettle bed grew again, her son would fall into it again and hurt himself again.

  7. My son aged three fell in the nettle bed.he came out crying with blisters on his skin.my son often feel sharp wounds again.

The phrase ’not a nettle in that fierce parade stood up right anymore.’ this suggests that the nettle bush was sorry and mother was very cross.

i think the end line means that if the boy was still alive he would still feel the sharp blisters in him.

  8. Task 1:
There is a 3 year old who falls in a nettle bed and comes out crying with blisters on his skin. After they soothed him until his pain was nearly gone. His mother went out and started burning the bush however, the nettle bush grew back with the rain and sun.

    Task 2:
The poet’s feelings towards her son is love. The phrase’ not a nettle in that fierce parade stood up right anymore.’ This suggests, that the mother was angry at the nettle bush. This tells me she loves him because if the bush didn’t hurt her son than she wouldn’t have even touched the bush and just ignored it.However, the bush hurt her son so burned it down.

    Task 3:
I think the last line of the poem means that her son will always feel the pain of when he fell in the nettle bed when ever sees the nettle bed.

  9. Task 1

In the poem the nettles are described as nettle beds.It indicates that the nettle is painful and it starts going on to how the nettle caused the boy to have big blisters on his tender skin.after that it explains that the mother began soothing him as he was in discomfort.

    Task 2

The phrase `with sobs and tears the boy came seeking for comfort` describes that the boy loves his mom.it suggests that if he has a problem he prefers going to her.
The poets feeling towards her son is that she knows that he knowS she is there for him and she loves him.

    Task3

I think the last phrase means that when he experianced the pain he could still feel the sharp wounds as it brings back painful memories

  10. It says that when there a nettles it is called a nettle bed. This tells me that if you get stung it would be extremely painful. It also says that she chops them down and this tells me you must cut them down.

  11. Task 1
In the poem they are describing the nettles which they call a nettle bed and the little boys mum says what a name to call such a horrible pain. It then starts to describe the tender skin and how the big white blisters appeared. Then it said after some days it had been raining and the sun had been shining so the neetles had grown back again.

    Task 2

The boys mother loves her son because he came seeking comfort and you wouldnt do that with somebody you hate. secondly she otherwise known as the poet cares for her son because were it says they lit a funeral it means they cut down the nettles so it wouldnt cut him agin so this means she is pretective of her child or children.

    Task 3
Because it says next task to light a funeral pyre to burn the fallen dead i think it means to cut down the nettles but after 2 weeks of sun and rain they have grown back again so he might fall in the nettles again thats wht i think the last line means.

What i think the story means?

There is a little boy who has fallen in a nettle bed and his mum says how can u call them a such a nice name then she describes the white blisters on her sons arm. Then they started to soothe his pain with other leaves and trees and soon he started to smile. His mum, then cut downn the nettles and after 2 weeks of sun and rain they had grown back again so it could possibly happen to him again he could fall in them again.
