This statement tell us that she did amazing things because in the texts it says “Parks is famous for her refusal on 1 December 1955, to obey bus driver James Blake’s demand that she relinquish her seat to a white man. Her subsequent arrest and trial for this act of civil disobedience triggered the Montgomery Bus Boycott, one of the largest and most successful mass movements against racial segregation in history” and she helped change the law about the difference between white and black people.

“Rosa Parks is a hero” Discuss this statement using evidence from the text.

I agree with this statement because she played a significant role, in ending segregation against ‘coloured’ people (in America). This is because of the Montgomery Bus Boycott which was triggered by her refusal to give up her bus seat for a white man. Many people said that she was tired and she didn’t want to give her seat up for that reason, but she famously said “People always say that I didn’t give up my seat because I was tired, but that isn’t true. I was not tired physically, or no more tired than I usually was at the end of a working day. I was not old, although some people have an image of me as being old then. I was forty-two. No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in.”
This shows her determination in gaining rights for coloured people in America and how she was determined not to give in to a man due to his race. This shows how Rosa Parks was a hero.
