On Friday 4th February, a group of Year 6 girls and boys took part in a rowing competition at the Coventry and Warwickshire sports center. The children had worked very hard for many weeks on our two rowers, Viking and Anglo, and were very optimistic about doing well for themselves and the school.

The students all enjoyed the trip and performed very well, with 3 students, Zain, Alexis and Hajrah, all achieving personal bests. The team’s scores on the day were the best, but we would not find out until later if the school had become victorious as there were 3 other events where we could have been beat. Today, we found out . . .

The results were fantastic for different reasons. Both the girls and the boys had the the highest scores from across Coventry West, and will now represent them in the regional final. Well done to Bilowol and Muhammad R as they also gained individual recognition as the first and third fastest boy. The children have all come along way and gained a lot. Next stop – county finals!
