6Red visit Foleshill Community Centre

To launch our English writing unit, 6Red took a trip to Foleshill Community Centre. At the centre, people in the community can access a social supermarket, advice and support services, emergency food provision, community gardens and holiday activities.

However, the centre is extremely run down and it is raising vital funds so that it can continue to offer a crucial lifeline to youngsters in the city.

We were able to visit the centre and have an exclusive tour, where the wonderful staff talked to us about the purpose of the centre and the proposed work.

We will be using this information to write persuasive letters to Councillor Abdul Kahn, asking him to raise awareness of this cause.

Challenge: What did you think of the centre? Do you think the regeneration is a worthwhile cause?

I think the centre will become a really good place for people to come and see, for them to play games instead of being stuck in the house all day. And I think this place can really improve 👍
