Year 4 Homework Autumn 2 Week 3

Here is this week’s homework. Don’t forget it must be finished by Wednesday morning. Complete a minimum of two pieces and if you have any problems, let your teacher know on Monday morning.

English

Last week, we were learning all about poetry. Your homework this weekend is to write a poem entitled: The Rain.

It could be a haiku or a longer poem like the ones we wrote in school.

Here is an example of a haiku.

The Rain

The Rain is freezing.

Pattering on my cold face.

I need my rain coat.

Maths

Hi Year 4! Your Maths homework this week is on Education City, where you will continue to practise calculating the perimeter of shapes. Have fun!

Wow Work

Go on a states of matter scavenger hunt. How many liquids, solids and gases can you find? Write a list of the solids, liquids and gases that you find in your homework book.

    The rain is freezing
    Not so pleasing
    The clouds are fluffy
    But dark and dusty
    Droplets slither down my face
    The tension of stress fastens up in pace
    The vast wind howls down my ear
    Clearly fearing my darkest dear
    Gloomy and sad
    Of course its bad
    I feel my coats emotion
    Considering its sudden commotion
    Wish I was home, feets up watching a show
    But other than that.. Ill be playing in the snow
    But not so surprising we are still in the flow
    Guess Ill have to wait until next Christmas though
    Of course thats next year, Santa would be very busy..
    His business will grow, all elfs would be fussy
    However its June, summer sun is on its way
    The heart-breaking rain, will finally pay
    Good-bye, how worsening of you to go away! Ho Ho Ho!
