All About the Anglo-Saxons

4 Blue have had a fantastic time learning about the Anglo-Saxons this half term. We have learned all about how and why they came to Britain, the structure of their society, the way they buried their dead and even how they punished criminals!

This week we explored lots of different aspects of Anglo-Saxon daily life:

We researched what they ate and had our own (imaginary) Anglo-Saxon feast.

We looked at the runic alphabet and practiced carving our names and other messages.

We looked at Anglo-Saxon clothing and designed our own outfits.

We did some research about how the Anglo-Saxons interacted with the ferocious Vikings.

Finally, we looked at Anglo-Saxon religious practices and made fact files about their many different gods.

What is the most interesting thing you have learned about the Anglo-Saxons?
