What happens to the scales if the object is lighter? One side of the scales will go up and one side will go down.
If we balance the scales, what does this mean? It means that both sides have equal weight, the same amount of weight on both sides.

If the object is light the scale will not come down. The scale will balance if the objects are of same weight.

If object is lighter it goes up and if its heavier it goes down on the scale. If your comapring both same weight its stays in the middle. Example adam gave was if he compares his small teddy bear and basketball the teddy bear would go up and basketball would be down as the vall is heavier.
