Crime Scene 4 Blue

This week we were transported back to 1939 and put our detective hats on to investigate the mystery of the โ€˜bodiless burialโ€™ found at Sutton Hoo in Sussex. We learned that this unusual site, thought to be just a collection of odd mounds in the grounds of a country house, was in fact the location of a remarkably intact Anglo-Saxon ship burial, and the source of one of historyโ€™s great mysteries – who was the burial for?

We explored the artefacts found at this unique excavation and used them to deduce facts about the person they once belonged to.

Can you remember what these objects are?

What do they tell us about the person who used them and life in Anglo-Saxon times?

Watch this video to learn more about the Sutton Hoo site and what was found there. Can you solve the mystery?
