Money Matters in 4 Blue

Today we had a visit from Anne who works for HSBC bank. She told us all about the things the bank does, the different kinds of cards we can use to spend money, and some tips for being careful consumers and spending money wisely.

What is the difference between a debit card, a credit card and a gift card?

List at least three features of a debit card.

What was the most interesting thing you learned from Anne today?

    What is the difference between a debit card, a credit card and a gift card?
    A debit card is issued by a bank.
    A debit card is used to make purchases to pay bills or to get cash from cash machines.
    A gift card is a card to buy something it has an amount that you can spend like £10 £20 or £30 it also has an expiry date.

    I have learnt that other countries have £100 like…..

    What do you know?
    I know that you have to be 18 to get a credit card and you have to be 11 to get a debit card.
    I know that you can add money to a gift card.

    Credit card you get at the age of 18
    Debit card you get at the age of 11
    A gift card if you have £10.00 and its 20 you can pay 10 from the card and 10 cash.
    I have learned that when your 11 you can get a debit card. And o have learned that a long time ago they used paper notes and made it out of soil
