This week we continued with our topic βFamiliar Storiesβ.
We listened to the story βWeβre Going on a Bear Huntβ by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury and did lots of exciting activities. Please take a look at our super learning. What was your favourite part of the week?
Communication and Language – To listen to and talk about non-fiction books to develop knowledge and to introduce new vocabulary
Literacy – To write short sentences with known letter sounds
Maths – To investigate capacity
SEAL – To know how to help in my community
EAD – To explore, use and refine a variety of artistic effects to express their ideas and feelings. We added sound effects to the story βWeβre Going on a Bear Huntβ using a range of instruments and noise makers.
Basic Skills- To practise letter formation/writing CVC words
Reading- To read familiar words from a favourite story
PSED – To be able to express their feelings and consider the feelings of others. We worked together in small groups to build a cave for the bear using a variety of materials and equipment.
Understanding of the World-To create a map
SMSC-To think about stories which are special to Christians
This week it was Imtisalβs 5th birthday. She very kindly bought in a huge, delicious cake to share with all the Reception classes and crisps, sweets and biscuits for all the Reception Blue children. Thank you so much for lovely treats. We hope you have a wonderful birthday.ππ
