1R Health Week

BE MINDFUL

We took part in Japanese Radio Taiso each day.

We thought about things that worry us and who we could talk to if we are worried. We designed our own worry monsters too.

We explored the benefits of being outside and how this affects our mental well-being.

We made sensory bottles to help us to stay calm if we are feeling worried, stressed or angry.

We used positive language about ourselves and our friends.

BE HEALTHY

We carried out an investigation to see how clean our hands really are. We touched bread with an unwashed hand, a hand cleaned with soap, a hand cleaned with hand gel and a hand that had touched the floor.

We can’t wait to see what happens!

We learnt about food hygiene.

We created a healthy snack and learnt about good choices. We created our own chef hats too.

BE ACTIVE

We created our own version of Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes using different body parts.

We danced and did some yoga too!

BE CONNECTED

We were so lucky to be visited by Misa who is from Japan. She taught us about Japanese culture and helped us to use origami to make a samurai. What a fabulous experience!

In PSHE this half term, we have been learning about people who help us at school. Today we decided to show our appreciation by making Thank You cards. The children put smiles on so many adults faces.

BE HAPPY

What have you enjoyed most this week? Tell me something you have learnt.
