1R St John’s House Museum

We had a fabulous trip to St John’s House today to learn about houses in the Victorian days. Have a look at what we got up to…

We used chalk and slates like Victorian children. We practised our number formation.

We attended Victorian school. Can you tell me how it was different to Broad Heath?

We helped the maid with the laundry. How was this different to our laundry today?

We learnt about different houses in the Victorian days. How were rich people’s houses different to poor people’s? What jobs did the servants have to do?

Rayyan said he really enjoyed the trip and that it was different to his school because they didnt have white boards and they used chalk boards and they never had a washing machine to do their laundry instead they used a mangle and dried their clothes with that thing. He said it was really fun exploring the things in the victorian school.
