4 Red Visit Bosworth Battlefield

Today 4 Red visited Bosworth Battlefield as part of their History topic, The Tudors. The children began their day by meeting Master John, who taught them everything about the weapons that would have been used during the Battle of Bosworth and what armour they would have wore to protect themselves from those very sharp weapons!

Once the children had practised their fighting skills, the children were taken on a guided walk along the Battlefield of Bosworth! Here, they learned about the importance of the Tudor family and their links to the House of York and Lancaster. More importantly, they learned about what happened at the Battle of Bosworth.

The children then had their long-awaited lunch, which they enjoyed inside the amazing cabin provided to us by the people who work at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Site.

Finally, their day ended with a visit to the Tudor exhibition within the heritage site. The children really enjoyed this part of the day, as it was very interactive. They were allowed to touch so many amazing artefacts and even have a virtual reality experience as a Tudor soldier!

Which two families fought in the Battle of Bosworth?

Did you learn any new facts? If yes, what were they?

What was your favourite part of the day? Why?
