Year 3 Reading Gladiators-Week 2

Calling all Reading Gladiators!!

Last week we looked at the book cover in great detail, using our inference skills we discussed what we had observed and used this to make sensible predictions. Was your prediction correct? What did you think ‘The Legends of Kevin’ was about?
At home you should have read the second chapter in preparation for this weeks session…Today we used our retrieval skills and developed our communication skills by answering questions about the chapter and voicing our opinion.

Reading Questions for Chapter3

1. When Max saw Daisy standing by the window, how did he feel?

2. What figure of speech is Daisy using when she speaks of, “moth-haunted mournfulness of midnight.”

3. What did Daisy mean when she said she was ‘A Creature of Darkness’?

4. What did Kevin do to show Ma. That he liked him?

5.The author writes ‘Max fell asleep wondering what his parents would think of Kevin. Would they let him stay?’

    1. Max must’ve been worried and suprised to see Daisy standing by the window.
    2. Kevin put his nose against Max’s cheek and made a snorty noise which meant to show that Kevin was thankful for all what he has done.
    3. I think Max will hide Kevin before his parents wake up.
    4. I don’t think Max’s parents will let Kevin stay they would be scared to see a flying pony in thier house.
