Year 4 Phonics

Good morning Year 4! Your phonics practice for this week is based around the ’ee’ sound. Reflect on the different words we have looked at today that sound the same but have a different way of being spelt.

To begin with, watch the video below and have a practice of the sound.

Have a go at the activity below. How many words with ’ee’ can you identify in the story?

Now complete this second activity. Do this in your homework book, on a sheet of paper or the blog.

Challenge: Choose two or more words with ’ee’ and write your own sentence. You can use my example to help but make sure you come up with some of your own too.

Example: I can see a bee. The bees make honey.

Which two words have I used with either ’ee’, ’ea’, ’e-e’ or ’y’?
